Create a better experience

While skimming through my RSS feeds, I always grab bits and pieces that illustrates ideas that I don’t know how to express it and write it. Just like this one about creating a better experience and how to be innovative in any aspect of the world:

In 2007, a company named Pure Digital released the Flip Video camera. It has quickly become the best selling video camera on Amazon.com. It has captured 13% of the video camera market in just a few months.

How does a product from an unheard-of company come to challenge an industry dominated by established big players, such as Sony, Panasonic, and Canon? It’s simple. Create a better experience.

25 MORE reasons You Might Be A Hardcore Graphic/Web Designer

Source: BittBox.com

These are in no particular order but I gave them numbers so you all could reference them in the comments if you like. OK, here we go..

  1. You’ve had a client that thought they knew more about design than you.
  2. Your clients pay you for your professional expertise and skill, yet you’ve run into one of ‘those’ clients, that refuses to take the advice from the very person he/she is paying for advice (you).
  3. You’ve had a client that insisted on using the font “Papyrus,” and you had to hold in your barf as you prepped it [the design] for printing. Continue Reading

Mankind

Someone asked Confucius, ‘what surprises you most about mankind?’
Conficius answered, ‘they lose their health to make money and then lose money to restore their health. When girls don't put out!!

This was written by a guy … it’s pretty damn smart.

Girls — Please have a sense of humor!

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE:

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, ‘I don’t feel like it, I just want you to hold me.’

I said, ‘WHAT??!! What was that?!’

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear…

‘You’re just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.’

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, ‘Can’t you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?’

Slow Down Culture (Unknown Author)

I’m not really sure who wrote this since I received it from a friend via email. I must say that it did make me stop and reflect on how we approach our own work with goals of trying to earn money online quickly.
Stop, read, pause and reflect – I hope you enjoy this:

It’s been 18 years since I joined Volvo, a Swedish company. Working
for them has proven to be an interesting experience. Any project here
takes 2 years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple and
brilliant. It’s a rule. Continue Reading

The Blackle from Google

Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle http://www.blackle.com, with the exact same functions as the white version, but obviously with lower energy consumption. It was in response to the following:

“…If Google had a black screen, taking in account the huge number of page views,
according to calculations, 750 mega watts/hour per year would be saved.”
