Mankind

Posted by Charbel Jamous on Apr 11 2008 | Writings

Someone asked Confucius, ‘what surprises you most about mankind?’
Conficius answered, ‘they lose their health to make money and then lose money to restore their health. By thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor the future and they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived…’

When girls don't put out!!

Posted by Charbel Jamous on Feb 05 2008 | Writings

This was written by a guy … it’s pretty damn smart.

Girls — Please have a sense of humor!

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE:

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, ‘I don’t feel like it, I just want you to hold me.’

I said, ‘WHAT??!! What was that?!’

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear…

‘You’re just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.’

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, ‘Can’t you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?’

Posted by Charbel Jamous on Jan 18 2008 | Writings

If you cannot follow all 40 steps, even a few are worth following. These are really very powerful. Implement whatever you can.

1. Take a 10-30
minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

3. Buy a DVR, tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, ‘My purpose is to__________ _ today.’

5. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy. (Enjoy with 3R’s club) Continue Reading »

Slow Down Culture (Unknown Author)

Posted by Charbel Jamous on Oct 13 2007 | Writings

I’m not really sure who wrote this since I received it from a friend via email. I must say that it did make me stop and reflect on how we approach our own work with goals of trying to earn money online quickly.
Stop, read, pause and reflect – I hope you enjoy this:

It’s been 18 years since I joined Volvo, a Swedish company. Working
for them has proven to be an interesting experience. Any project here
takes 2 years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple and
brilliant. It’s a rule. Continue Reading »

The Blackle from Google

Posted by Charbel Jamous on Oct 05 2007 | Personal

Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle http://www.blackle.com, with the exact same functions as the white version, but obviously with lower energy consumption. It was in response to the following:

“…If Google had a black screen, taking in account the huge number of page views,
according to calculations, 750 mega watts/hour per year would be saved.”

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he quietly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. Continue Reading »

By Scott Gledhill

We’ve all heard the fairy-tales about the prince kissing the princess, but the story just ends there; they both live happily ever after, riding off into the sunset, never to be seen again. But in real life, that’s just the beginning of the story—after the kiss and the sunset comes the hard work and the real relationship. Continue Reading »
